Any thoughts on how or what is wrong with this TV. When the power is turned on it goes from red to green back to red and never comes on. Is there a reset for this? Remote doesn't work unless power is cycled then it works once. It changes the light from red to green but unit doesn't come one. Thanks in advance.

That means there's a problem somewhere in the set and it's triggering the auto shutdown circuit. If you or someone you know has a multimeter and can solder , let me know if you want to try to DIY.

The most common failure is the horizontal output transistor. It will be a large transistor mounted on a heat sink close to the transformer with the red wire coming out of it.The two outside legs will read shorted normaly, but the middle leg should not be shorted to iether of the outside legs.If it's not shorted then check the middle leg of the transitor for voltage.Should be around 130 volts dc .You might have to have someone hit the power button while your trying to get a reading. Let me know what you find.
