I have a rental with an Amana Gas Furnace, about 3 years old.
The furnace was cold today and would not start. Turned out to be the draft inducer motor was stuck. It was too late to get a motor today so I oiled it up and turned it by hand until it loosened up and ran up to speed and seems fine.

Of course I need a new motor and hope to find one in the morning. The big question is;

Is it safe to let this run unattended...if it seizes up again could it heat up to a point of danger?

Amana Model # DMS90453BXA Serial # 0505046133

Goodman draft inducer motor # 223075-01

thanks, Ed

There are safety devices built into furnaces that provide protection from just about any type of malfunction. I wouldn't worry about the inducer. If it siezes again the furnace will not operate.
