I have a very old, antique dresser that has a strange odor. I have tried every cleaning solution I could think of to get the smell out of the wood but nothing is working. I would like to get rid of the odor without ruining the integrity and value of the antique. Any suggestions?

Yours is not an uncommon problem. Sealing the raw wood will eliminate the odor and not harm the value. Use shellac. Don't forget the inside, backside, and underside of all drawers, as well as the intire interior.
