We presently have a Mark 5000R (by Napco) automatic telephone dialer. The numbers it dials when an alarms is set off can't be changed, therefore we need to update the dialer. The problem is----- I don't know if the entire Mark5000r needs to be removed and the Ad2001 put up, or 2. If I just leave up the Mark 5000R and put cables from it to the Ad2001.

Can anyone instruct me on which cables need to go to the AD2001 and where----and if the Mark5000R needs to be removed or stay. Thanks so much.

How much do you want the wall space back?

If you are powering the thing down, for good, unless it's a total hassle, I'd remove it and dumpsterize it.

How you connect the AD2001 has more to do with the system you are connecting it to. Was the old dialer tripped by a "dry contact" or by voltage?

Wall space is no issue. If I could send you a picture I could make more sense.

If the Ad2001 will do everything the Mark5000R did, then I can just remove it. I just don't know where all the wires go from the Mark to the Ad2001.

Again, the Mark 5000R isn't the issue.

What alarm system are you trying to connect the dialer to?

The available outputs that the base alarm system has dictates what you need to disconnect from the Mark 5000R and connect to the AD2001.

This more about the capabilities of the security system that the dialer was an add on for.

the alarm system is "Electronic Security Control Model # 6132, by Alarms Control Corp."

It has zone 1 & 2 and delay,contacts #14 & 15 say "dialer trip",dry contacts 5 amp 30 vdc or 120 ac max.

It has 22 different contacts/switches, no, nc,etc

Again, if I could send you a picture, you might could help me. But, thanks.

In that case, the only connections you have to worry about betwween AD2001 and your base alarm system is the dialer trip contact, and power.

You follow the AD2001 instructions and configure it for dry contact trip.
