I want to program my front door zone to function as a normal entry/exit when the alarm in in an armed state, but I also want it to warn at the keypads when the door has been left open (say, more than 30s) when the alarm is disarmed, then stop warning when the door is closed. Is this possible?

There's really no way to do that with the basic system zone programming, even using the configurable zones.
What you _can_ do with the hardware you have is to use something like a time delay relay:
ELK-960 Delay Timer (http://www.elkproducts.com/products/elk-960.htm)
You program an output from the V20p to trigger the timer when that specific zone is opened. The timer can be set up so that it resets when trigger voltage is removed. If the door stays open long enough for the timer to run out, the timer triggers a cheap little 12v piezo buzzer (which will have the benefit of sounding different from the standard door chime).
You will have to fiddle with the output programming a bit to get it to work:
Activated by zone number (alarm/fault/trouble)
output action: Stay closed
You need a second output programmed to the same zone number
Activated by zone number (restore)
output action: off
It's a little convoluted but should do what you seem to be after.
