I have a Kenmore Dishwasher 587.15242700 that is not draining completley... the draining process will start... i've started a cycle and cancelled it and the motor or pump kicks on and the water starts to drain but then it stops at a point and the water in the hose to the disposal goes back down to the dishwasher
The motor and pumps sound like they are running but for some reason it's not getting all the water out of the tub
any suggestions

First thing thing to do is take the drain hose off at the disposal, run the machine in drain cycle with the end of the hose going into a 5 gallaon bucket. If it drains ok, look for an obstruction in the disposal tube. If it does not drain ok, most likely the drain impeller is damaged. You can see a parts breakdown at sears parts. Take the spray arm off, then the housing, take out the impellers and see how they look. If needed, you can get an impeller and seal kit. You'll also need the alignment tool; both are cheap. Let us know what you find. Thanks.
