I just installed my ademco 20p and programed it, For some reason as soon as i open a door i will tell me the my wireless door transmitter is a fault, when i enter programing mode and exit it kinda resets and alows me to arm it, as soon as i open that door the alarm goes off fine and i am able to disarm it but cannot arm it again until i have entered programing mode and exited.

The correct loop for a 5816 transmitter is loop 2 for the internal contacts, not loop 1.

2. would it be *56 then select the zone then when it gets to loop select 2 and input the serial number. one final question briefly explain how i can set up the the alarm so lets say i armed it, that it will give me 10-20 seconds to disarm it before the alarm sets off, and the what type should i set the transmiter to, perimiter, entry, etc thanks

Anything that is a perimeter (ZT 03) should give an instant alarm. ZT 01 or 02 are the entry/exit delay zones for the 20P.

Since you have already enrolled the transmitter, all you have to do is step through the *56 programming by pressing * until you get to the loop number prompt, then change it to the correct one.
