I have a Calcite/Corosex neutralizer followed by a fleck metered Potassium Chloride softener that have been operating for just over 2 years now. System was installed due to medium hard water, significant iron and pH of 6.5. Absolutely no issues with water quality or system, works great for us. Softener nozzles were replaced 12 months ago.
Question : we seem to still be getting some sort of mineral deposits on our fiberglass shower and bath enclosures and glass doors. It can't be hard water stains, could it? so is it from the nuetralizer?
Any suggestions appreciated.

Does it wipe off easily? It's not from the neutralizer. Could be salt residue.

A big no - doesn't wipe off easily at all. It seems to be water spots, but almost like etching as I cant remove them with any typical houshold cleaners. I also notice it on the chrome fixtures, and last night used metal polish and it came right off.
It seems more noticeable as we just got new shower doors and within a week the marks appeared - now I notice them everywhere.
I'm concerned that my system in the basement is malfunctioning. I'm going to get a water test kit on the way home tonight to check the water sofetener is working and we do have soft water.

what kind of soap do you use?

good question - I'm not sure, but the marks are so widespread that its more like wherever the water has splashed rather than where the soap is. There is no concentration of the marks at low level vs high level. I can check tonight if it makes any difference, but its generally store bought bodywash type of soaps.

Neutralizers add hardness to the water.
Sometimes dealers just test the untreated water for hardness and forget to test after the neutralizer to get accurate programming data for the softener.
Have the water tested for the following:
Hardness
Iron
pH
Total Alkalinity
TDS
at the following locations
Raw Untreated Water
After the neutralizer
After the softener
That info will help us assist you in solving the problem
