Walls and Ceilings - Suspended Ceiling Question

I am having a suspended ceiling installed and I was measuring the perimeter, walls, to the center of the room. I noticed it was 'off' a little when measuring... As I look at it, with the naked eye, it looked like the track, blocks from the left wall looks slightly slanted down... When I put a 24 inch level and measure it looks like it is slightly off... Now it is finished and the blocks are in so I guess I have to leave as is...

Please clarify for a better answer. What blocks are you talking about? and is the drop ceiling in already or havn't you started yet? thanks.

Sorry, it is the ceiling tiles (blocks) and it is being installed now by a person I hired. The one room I am talking about is 'finished'. All the needs to be done is putting in the recessed light trim.

if its out of level then you better have the guy fix it. It should be perfectly level. The squareness, however, will only be as good as the existing room.

I noticed he used these V Shaped brackets (Not sure what they are called) that are hold up the tracks of the suspended ceiling in certain sections... Each side of the V, top, are in the floor joists. Looks like they are a few in each room. Looks like he used this instead of bolts in the joists wrapped/tied wth wire. Is this ok?

Those V things are called fence staples. Mostly used for putting up the track on the walls. Can be used to hang the wires from but are not as good as the ceiling lags. Isn't a problem using them though. There just cheaper than the eye hook lags. IF its built right they should be every 4ft or less on the mains

The only mistake the guy you hired made was not following the existing lines of reference( your block wall mortar lines, even if they are 2" off level) unless of course you plan to finish the basement with drywall(then it should be level).Perhaps, the tradesman you hired cheated between level and whatever line the block had. If you ever checked my work woth a 2' level, id hit you with it. Then throw my laser at you... on second thought my tools are expensive and more accurate than yours. Im sure his are too.

I agree with coops28, he should come back and make it level if it is not. This is in a room with plaster or drywall walls right?
