Aquastone is an awesome product but there are many more out there as well. Check out NoAds.com and see the different types of plaster products available.

I have used Versiplast in the past with much success in my hallway. I tinted the plaster and troweled on.

Then used a lighter plaster by Proceed called Rough Regular on my bathrooms wall. I put it on lightly just to get a little movement. Then I applied by sponge rolling Proceed's Metallic Texture, tinted to a warm beige. After that dried I troweled two coats of the same lightly. Looks really good!
