I have a very large wall located in my family room. It is approx 15 feet high and 25 feet long. I need to do something with the wall but anything I put on it gets swallowed up by the size of the wall. There is also the very big problem of an air vent located approx 6 feet up the wall making it very hard to find a center because it's approx 4 feet inside the wall. In need of cheap suggestions. I would like to make this a focal point in this room.

Is this the first wall you see when you enter the room? Is there a wall opposite that would better serve as the focal wall? Fireplace? Fireplace walls are focal walls. Is this a long, narrow room and this wall is at the end? Does the room have large windows with a great view that should be the focal point?

It would not be cheap to relocate the vent. It would not be cheap to do built-ins for TV and to accommodate the vent.

With a better description of room, measurements, and photos, it would be easier to provide input. You can post photos at www.photobucket.com (http://www.photobucket.com) or other and post link here.

Hi Dee Harris,

the best solution to "disolve" a wall ;) is fragmenting the wall with the creation of several focal points
However, you should be very carefull with your decisions and balance the style of the room and furniture, light, moldings, etc.
If you post some pictures, I can try to sketch some ideas

I have added some pictures of the room. I would love some suggestions. My decor in the house is country. You can see the pictures posted on Dee_001_2009 - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting (http://photobucket.com/Dee_001_229).
thanks!

Hi Dee Harris,

I worked with this image on your wall

This is what I'd do
- Create a custom molding around the room using wood molding and a wallpaper matching with the Country style, sofa, etc
- Create an additional focal point using light on the small window
In this way, light and color will be "disolving" the great wall. The molding will help to integrate all the walls

If you wish to spend a little more money, you can follow the pitched ceiling with the wood molding
