Whirlpool Ultimate Care II
Top Load Washer
Model # LSN1000JT0
-------------------------------------------------------
The machine spins, but when it first starts spinning it acts like the load is out of balance. The tub bangs against the sides until it's up to speed, and then the spin cycle finishes okay.
I'm thinking there's a spring (or springs) that hold the drum centered that either broke or came disconnected. Also, it feels like the drum can be moved too easily from side to side when the machine is in its off position.
Am I on the right track, and if so, is it an easy fix; or is it time for a new washer?
Thanks,
Phil

Tilt machine back aginest wall, Look under there will 3 springs from base to tub Look in back there should be 1 spring from tub to lower base. Before you do anything tilt machine to you untill the rear legs are off the floor. Should hear a click where rear legs self level.

the plate rides on 3 plastic pads, and the front ones gets worn out sometimes. make sure they are still there.
