Doors and Windows - Warped doors

I have several JEN WELD Bi-fold doors that have warped. Is there any way of straightening them out.I have tried to,by laying them flat and supporting the end and putting a weight in the middle.It didn't work. I was told to bring them back to the store for a replacement,but then I have to re-cut,re-paint and re-hang them. There are 3 hinges on each door. They are warped about 3/4in.

If they are willing to replace them - get new ones. When you get ready to paint them, be sure to paint the top and bottom edges so they will be less affected by humidity.

I agree- you'll never unwarp a door.

If they seem to get worse in the winter and better in the summer, then it is the dry winter air pulling the moisture out of the wood. Coaxing them back into shape so you can seal them completely is doubtful as stated. Is the house fairly dry?

We have the same problem with 3 of our 4 Jeldwen bi-fold doors. Oddly enough, the larger door that is facing south and gets a lot of sun, has not shown any signs of warping. The other 3 are on small closets and this is our 2nd set of doors. It's not worth taking them back as this will happen again. We painted all sides of the doors both times and even sealed them with a poly sealer the 2nd time around. They still warped. We are now looking at other options (pocket doors, pre-hung panel doors, etc.) Good luck -- we feel your pain!:wall:

If they are louvered doors, you'll never seal everything. The slot that the slats fit into will always absorb the moisture.
