Before I get to my question, I just have to say that this forum and it's members are an amazing resource. I've spent several hours on here over the last couple of days and have found the answers to the majority of my questions by doing some simple searches. Thank you to all!
On to my question:
We formerly had a DSC alarm, and we were able to disarm it simply by entering our alarm code. With our new GE Concord 4, we need to enter '1' + 'CODE' to disarm. Is it possible to turn off the '1'?
Thanks!

Nope, Concord panels are based off the old ITI model which is [command digit] followed by [code] for most functions. Ademco is similar, but in reverse ([code] followed by [command digit]).
It's hardcoded into the underlying system, so you are stuck with it.

During an alarm or during entry delay time, you don't need to hit "1" first. Any other time you do.
