When installing a subfloor, two of our kitchen cabinets got scratched when some material fell. The cabinets are maple with a natural finish with polyeurathane. Any suggestions on how to repair the scratches or will I have to refinish the doors from scratch?

Cheryl:

If the scratches are in the finish only, a light sanding followed by recoating will probably work. If the scratch is through the finish and into the wood, the doors will have to be stripped, the scratch sanded out, and then recoated.
