I have a set of hardwood steps that were put in without a skirt. The one side is open and the other side is up against drywall without any skirt or anything.Trying to figure out how to put up a skirt or something without alot of hassle.Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

To the best of my knowledge, there is no such thing as a skirt board that is not a hassle. It is VERY precision trim carpentry, and very difficult to do.

I've only done one after-the-fact skirt board and had to join AlAnon afterwards...just kidding. The skirt board should have been installed prior to the stair treads and risers. In order for you to get a good looking skirt, you will have to remove the treads and risers, slip in the skirtboard, trim the treads and risers 3/4" and reinstall.
