Hi, I am new here and hoping someone can help!! We have a Kenmore water softener and for the last week it has been recharging every night. We do have a toilet that has been running constantly and I know that that can make it recharge more (we had another one of our toilets running in the past but never did it recharge every night), but is there any other reason that it could be recharging that much. Could lack of salt be attributing to the increase in recharging? We have needed to add salt for about two weeks and have just forgotten!! I am planning on fixing both problems (running toilet and no salt) this week, but I was just wondering why else it would recharge so much??? Thanks!

The salt has nothing to do with the amount of regens. The leak at the toilet sure does. Two different toilet leak, two different amounts of water leaking. The unit measures water useage, and determines when the regen based on that. a half gallon per minute leak is 720 gallon per day. That's a lot of water.
