Replaced the original 4190 with a new one today, but the system still doesn't detect it even after rebooting.
Need info on how to troubleshoot this problem.
thanks all

Your original must have been posted when the site was being a bit flaky.
Assuming that you have set the dip switches to match the old one, what is the specific and full part number of your new module?
Some of the newer models are _not_ backward compatible with the old Vector panels.

Hi MrRon,
Thanks for your reply.
The replacement is No. 4190WH. Dips are set to "10" as was the old one.
This rpm is in a loop as follows:
8 -BGE glass break
9 - 4192 smoke
10 - 4190 not being recognized
11- smoke
12 - smoke
Then the loop goes on to a 4208 8 pt module to pick up 17-23.
Everything before and after the 4190 is fuctional, so I'm guessing there's not a problem with the loop.
Could it simply be a programing glitch? How would I enter prog. mode to check that out?
Thanks for your help!
steve

That's the right part number for that system. Bear in mind, these things are pretty old. If you were doing a straight replacement, it should have picked right up. You may have bought a dud.
Simple test, swap another known good one in your system with this one (just change the address).
