I disconnected a vintage model Alarm, and lost dial tone in from every telephone jack in the house. With out this brick on the wall, I have no phone service.
I reconnected the red, green, yellow, and black wires to their original configuration on the panel, and the phones and internet work again. Is there a permanent DIY solution to this problem, exposed wiring does not match my decor.
Thanks for your time.

The best way:
Take the phone wire that was coming to the panel and follow it back to the NID and disconnect, then reattach the house phones (usually red and green) to the NID line 1 terminals.
The other way:
Take the four wires that were attached to the panels phone connection and splice Red to to yellow and green to black.
Good luck

Thanks, spliced the wires as you suggested, and solved the problem.
