I just bought a house and the previous owner white washed the wooden ceiling in the living room. I want to remove it and stain it with a darker stain. Is there an easy way to remove the white wash from the ceiling?

Welcome tothe forums!

Depending on what type of 'white wash' was used, it may come off with a solvent or may need a paint remover. You will also need to do sanding. No easy way - it will all take elbow grease
