Thank you for the massive amount of information on this wonderful site! I spent most of yesterday extracting details to re-program my pc5010 (to add 2 new zones - 7 & 8) and for the most part I seem to have been successful.

I'm looking for a bit of help because it doesn't seem to be recognizing the delayed entry parameters (both delay 1 & 2) for my access & garage doors.

Here's where I'm at (sorry it's a bit lenghty, but more detail = better help, no?):

DSC832 pc5010
2-(8 zone LED) keypads -set to partition 1 w/keypads 1 & 2
8 zones total
-zones 1 & 2 set to delay 1 (supposedly)
-zones 3 & 4 set to instant
-zones 5 & 6 set to int stay/away (motion sensors)
-zones 7 & 8 set to delay 2 (supposedly)

I successfully reset the system to "re"gain the installer code and I have programmed:
master code
access code
time/date
[013] to NC loops
[015] panic keys audible, quick exit enabled, TLM disabled
[107] & [108] zone attributes default to "delay 2" w/change to Chime "No" (I know when I open my garage doors) and Force "Yes" to allow garage doors to be open during arming delay.

From what I can see, each zone is "acknowledging" it's position (zones light up appropriately when open/closed). The system awaits ready to arm, without trouble or errors. It will arm/disarm properly with access codes, however, once armed, the delayed entries aren't recognized and zones 1, 2, 7 & 8 they instantly trip (what a noise!)

If I'm understanding things correct...
I've programmed:
[001] zone definitions as follows: z1-01, z2-01, z3-03, z4-03, z5-05, z6-05, z7-02, z8-02
by *8, IC, 001, 01, 01, 03, 03, 05, 05, 02, 02,##

[005] system times to adjust delay 2
by *8, IC, 005, 030, 240, 120, 004

Should the combination of those sets of parameters not provide a 30 sec entry (delay 1) for zones 1 & 2 (access doors) and a 240 sec entry (delay 2) for zones 7 & 8 (garage doors) ??

Having the challenges above, I tried a bit of trouble shooting myself to see if what I was understanding was correct...
I went into [005] to adjust the exit delay to see if it would recognize the change *8,IC,005,030,240,020,004 and it armed in 20sec as I expected. Thinking the zone definitions might not be correctly assigned I went into [001] to "null" zones 7 & 8 as a test; *8, IC, 005,01,01,03,03,05,05,00,00 and zones 7 & 8 were disabled as expected (and have since been re-assigned as "02"

From these "tests" I'm figuring that I'm grasping the basic programming correctly, but can't figure out why it's not allowing delayed entry.

Am I missing another toggle/sequence/section somewhere that is over-riding my entry delays?

Any direct help, or directions to follow would be greatly appreciated. (I've been searching my Installation Manual & Programming guide for a reason and I'm reaching wits end!)

From your description, you seem to be entering the correct programming. What you might want to try is using the "panic" keys to view the contents of your locations to make sure you didn't get one segment out of sync.

Also there are a couple of older versions of the PC5010 that only did 2-digit times instead of 3-digit. Viewing the programmed contents will also reveal this as well.

Thanks for the info MrRonFL. You are a wealth of knowledge and I appreciate your time helping me here.

I entered into the program section to check the state of the current program as you suggested.

[001] displayed: z1 & 2 showed light #1 = 01, z3 & 4 showed light 1 & 2 = 03, z7 & 8 showed light #2 = 02... therefore they are all assigned properly, if I'm understanding things correctly.

[005] displayed when panic button depressed (beeping once unless stated otherwise) sequence as:
1. light #1 & 2 (=3)
2. no light (=0)
3. beep twice & light #2 (=2)
4. light #3 (=4)
5. no light (=0)
6. beep twice, no light (=0)
7. light #2 (=2)
8. no light (=0)
9. beep twice, no light (=0)
10. no light (=0)
11. light #3 (=4)
12. beep 3x and exitted

from this I'm guessing it means delay 1 is 30 or 30 seconds (although on 1st press of panic it didn't give a "zero" value as I programmed "030" originally) delay 2 is 240 seconds, exit delay is 020 seconds (I'm getting sick of waiting for arming while testing things!!) and bell cut off is 004 minutes.

from viewing the system times program (& programming it initially) it seems that it is using a 3 digit entry for the time. It beeps twice after each 3 digit entry and then triple beeps and exits the [005] program after the "0,0,4" entered for the Bell cut off.

Is there anything else that could be compromising or over-riding these delays? It's like it's arming as "Arming without Entry Delay" using the normal methods: "away" function key / standard Access code exit. I haven't (to my knowledge) programmed over these methods of arming.

UPDATE:  looks like I made a minor error in programming the keypads and re-assigned the "stay" function button incorrectly. I reprogrammed and it's now working properly. I also reprogrammed the assignment of the keypads as an "incase". I armed the system and my entry points with delay 1 & 2 are now delaying. I must have goofed somewhere, but things are good now. I just have to figure out which attribute to change for a "pulsed" count down for the delayed entry.

Thanks for all the help MrRonFL, both on this post and all your previous posts helping others. I can't believe how much I've learned about this system in the last day!!

Any thoughts? TIA
