Our problem started with the timer - wouldn't advance and would run unchecked until the door was opened. Then it morphed into the dryer not wanting to start right away when the button was pushed - would make a huge racket until the motor kicked in and then ran fine. Now it just clicks and refuses to run. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated - hubby is about ready to eat nails!!!!! model # 110.76972100 - having problems even locating info on this model#.

there could be something stuck in the blower wheel. if not could be thermal fuse, door switch or motor

Thanks, David! He checked the blower wheel - all clear. Door switch works fine. Next up, the motor! UGH! Back to the garage! Thanks for the help!

Can you describe the racket? ryr starting the motor independently of the dryer. That will tell you for sure if the problem is the motor or something else. Are you getting voltage to the motor? If so, how much? You can find parts breakdowns at sears parts, just put sears parts in a search engine. There should be a tech sheet in the console area, you'll need it for electrical troubleshooting. Look for parts on Ebay- more cheaper, he he. Let us know what you find.

Hmmm.... the racket sounds like an old car trying to start in the winter. It did this until the motor caught. Then it decided to start trying to overheat and started smelling like an electrical fire was trying to start. The unit is unplugged until further notice! Anyone know where I can by cheap clothesline for indoor use??? LOL Thanks for the help daddyjohn! May be on my way to get a new unit soon - will keep y'all informed!

Something got jammed in blower
UNPLUG DRYER FIRST

Take out lint screen and remove 2 screws there. put a stiff putty knife between top and front panel near corners and pry up, Will pop off clips. Remove back, 4 screws on lower left hand lint tube. Lift tube out and clean blower.
