Oops, another one. Now I'm framing and I find none of the documentation I have (arch drawing, web page from window mfr, product approval) gives me the rough opening for the 24x36 single hung aluminum windows. Or am I being dumb and it's 24x36? Any way to say without the window in hand?

RO's are usually 1 1/2 to 2" wider and taller than the window, so for a 24 x 36, you would have a 26 x 38 RO. Shims are your best friend. When you set the window in, install shims under the right and left stiles to give proper lift. A shim only in the middle of a wider window will tend to bow it.
