I just purchased a 48,000 g water softener with a clack valve and a vortec tank with a 300# brine tank. I started to program the valve and one of the first questions was for the program code which was default set at 14. I want to have the softener set up to run as efficiently as possible and I really dont know which program code I should use. I have a 3000 sq ft home with a manablock water system, 2 1/2 bath at the present time. 2 adults and a baby. The manual refers me to a guide but it is confusing to me. Does anyone know what code I should use to program this valve? water hardness is 18.5 city water.

backwash (min) // Brine/slow rinse // 2nd back wash // Rinse
P1 - 3 40 3 3
P3 - 4 45 4 3
P5 - 5 60 4 3
P7 - 6 45 4 3
P9 - 6 60 6 5
P11 - 7 60 6 6
P14 - 8 80 8 8
and others in between.
Your 45 k unit on city water I would set for 37000 grains cap.
15 lbs of salt, 19 grains hard. and P5. Thats just me, I'm sure theres other opinions. You could get even more efficient but I wouldn't take it right to the exact gallonage. Good Luck TJ
