In 04 I had a Lennox G61MPV Furnace installed along with a White-Rogers T-stat #1F81-261. When the furnace was first installed I locked my gas rate in for 3yrs. My furnace would wait approx. 12 minutes between cycles. Last year I noticed the furnace waited approx. 9 minutes between cycles.
In November this year I was at 6 minutes. This week I am now to 3 minutes.
Each heating cycle is approx. 12 minutes. which means my furnace is running about 48 minutes per hour.
Every year my gas usage goes up, but nothing has changed in the home, except I kept lowering the thermostat by 1 degree.
I have changed batteries, reset the t-stat serveral times.
If I turn off the furnace the temp holds 67 for about 1/2 hour before dropping to 66.
Is there a t-stat that is less sensitive and more adjustable than my white rogers?
I am very new here and I have only read a couple of forums and would a Honeywell t-stat that I can control the cycles per hour be my best fix?
Thanks for any help and sorry for the long thread.
PS I did lock in my gas rate again in October for .15 cents a therm less than what I was paying.
My total therm usage keeps going up.

Is this t-stat wired/set up to run two stage? (W2 wired up to the furnace)
In the set up menu, is the cycle rate set to fast or slow (FA or SL)
Here is the manual (http://www.white-rodgers.com/wrdhom/pdfs/instruction_sheets/0037-6228.pdf) if you don't have it.

Yes it is wired for the 2 stage. The 2nd stage kicks in when I advance the thermometer 3 or more degrees. The thermometer has been in the fast cycle mode. I did try the slow cycle stage for a few hours on Thursday and it did not make any difference. I will try it again and leave it longer.

Yeah, if you see no changes between the two, then sounds like the t-stat may be an issue.
I would suggest the Honeywell RTH7600 or RTH7500 if you want to replace it.

Today is about 20 degrees warmer than what it was when I last tried the slow cycle. Furnace is up to about 8 minute wait before recycling.

If I wanted to purchase the Vision Pro T-Stat, which would one do I need to buy?
Honeywell TH8110U1003 - VisionPro Thermostat (1 Heat - 1 Cool)
or
Honeywell TH8320U1008 - VisionPro Thermostat (3 Heat - 2 Cool)
Since my furnace is a 2 stage furnace.
I was going to purchase a Lennox Comfort Series T-Stat today, but after looking at them on the internet. The appear to be the exact same as the Honeywell.
Does Honeywell manufacture them and Lennox slaps their name and their higher price on them?

Go with the TH8320, and have it wired up on two stage.
If you went with the TH8110, you won't have the t-stat control the 2nd stage, and go on a timer.. Not the best comfort.
Yes, It's a rebranded t-stat and paying for the Lennox name.
