My Kinetco Neutalizer and Softening system was installed 3 years ago and is working fine but I noticed that the tank is about a quarter filled with calcite. I want to add it myself. Is there anything special I should know about the procedure? Does the tank need to be rebedded before adding fresh calcite?
Thanks for your help.

What are the model numbers of your units? It is not difficult to add Calcite.
What is your raw water test results for pH, iron and hardness?

I have a Mach Series Model 2030S and Neutralizer tank. I need to buy a kit to check the Ph, iron and hardness.
I will do that and let you know the results.

Normally, The AN bed just needs to be replenished but occasionally it may need to be dumped and rebedded.
Is the AN tank a single, upflow tank or one that backwashes?

It is a single AN tank with the inlet and outlet on the top. The softener automatically backwashes, but I'm not sure the AN tank backwashes. BTW, the Ph is 7.

If there is no backwashing valve on it, then it is a flow through filter with water coming up from the bottom.

Is replacing the calcite as straight-forward as it looks? Would I just put media in through the opening at the top shoulder of the tank?
