MTD Snow Thrower Model 611, 5 HP 4-Cycle HSSK50-67403U Tecumseh Engine
Last snow storm the machine would not throw snow far, unless under heavy load (snow bank or deep snow).
Engine seems to be running fine.
I am trying to remove the cover to the carburetor and I can't figure out how to get the choke knob off without breaking it.
I suspect a sticking linkage or bad spring.
Anyone know the trick of removing the carburetor cover?

The choke knob just slides off. Pry it off with a screwdriver.
Then remover all the screws & bolts from the cover. There is 1 on the very front of the engine, 1 on the side above the choke knob, 2 phillips screws on the side panel that bolt to the carb. Now just work the cover off.

Got the cover off.
Linkage and spring appear ok, must be a carb problem!
Thanks for your help!
