I sat a new burgandy-colored candle on a new solid oak wood mantle and dye from the bottom of the candle has stained the wood dark pink-red. (The candle has never been lighted, the oak is "finished".) Any suggestions on how to remove this stain?

I don't have the answer, but I'm having the same problem, only with a green candle. I, too would like to know the answer to this question!!

If not, go to "Furniture Refinishing" forum, August 21 topic "Candle wax dye stain". George is really good so if there's an answer I've got a feeling he knows it.
