:wall:I have a Frigidaire Proffesional series DW. The door does not seal propely from the left side but right side is ok. Is there any possibility to adjust the tension on the door or any other solution. While cycle in progress I hear more sound from the left side and when I press the door the sound vanishes also sometimes I see the steam coming from the same side. Any suggestion will be highly appreciated. Thanks.:wall:

Has it always been like this? What condition is the door gasket in? Any chance someone put excessive pressure on the door when it was open? [you know, like if little johnny sat on it? he he} Can you post the Model # so we can get a parts breakdown?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. The model # PLD2560LCC1. I do not see any gas kit on the door. When I bought new it was like that and no one sat on the door.

How old is the DW now? If it has been this way since new you might be able to get it replaced or repaured in warranty. At he top of the tub is the door strike, you could check that to see if it's loose. The gasket is on the front of the tub. Check its condition. There is a vent on the left side of the door near the top [left side as you are facing the front of the machine with the door closed]. Is this where you see the steam? That might be normal. A DW has to be vented. You could also try gently bending the door a little. Let us know how you make out. Thanks.

Thanks for the detailed input with the link to parts. Is there any way to increase the tension on the door by adjusting the spring on the left side hinge? I checked the gas kit it is perfect condition.

You could try taking off the toeplate at the bottom and take a look at the spring. Sometimes you'll see a set of holes that one end of the sping goes into. Moving the spring to increase the tension might help but the spring is more for the balance and closing of the door than an adjustment. If the spring is too tight the door will fly back up when you open it. It's certainly worth a try.
