Hi Guy

My Whirlpool Ultimate Care II washer (LSQ9544KQ0) was working normal before. I make a super plus load with Washing Cycle of Normal regular high and low agitation yesterday. The washer/timer is agitation/running normal through "Heavy 15"and "Regular 9" but then the washer/timer stopped working at "Light 6", I tried to turn the timer to rinse, spin, extra rinse, the washer/timer is still not working and water can't be drain out.

I tried to turn the timer to different cycle, rinse, spin, extra rinse, the washer only agitate at the beginning of heavy agitation for different cycle, then both washer/timer stopped working/running for the rinse, spin.

Also when I turn the timer close to the "Rinse" area, the timer would keep running for a while but washer not working, sometime the both washer/timer would agitation/running for a while, then stop everything. The washer can't running rinse, spin and drain.

Does anyone have an idea what could be causing this problem?

should I replace a new timer?

Thanks in advance.

Sincerely,
Polly

Is your washer 4 years old or less? Could be the lid switch.

Yes, my washer is more than 4 years old. How can I sure the lid switch is out of control? I use pen/screwdriver to push the lid switch, it is same not running. I use a mirror+flashlight and see from the bottom of the lid switch it get a little rust.

Actually after I loaded clothing into the washer, I close the lid, then turn on the timer, it only run/work for the first regular agitation then stop at the light agitation, I tried to open/ close the lip, turn the timer to light agitation, rinse, spin, all of them are no response. But when I turn timer to beginnin of agitation(regular agitation), it works for a while, then stop from light agitation/rinse. I guess it stop because the regular agitaion process was finished, also I can't hear timer running at the same time.

When I turn the timer to spin, I hear the timer running, basket doesn't run. The timer pointed to light agitation and rinse, I can't hear timer running, basket same doesn't run.

I use cold water only, at the begining the cold water enter into the basket according to my selected level, then basket stop running from the light agitation (my washer run regular agitation, the light agitation), so the water stay inside the basket, water can't be drain out, so even I turn the timer to rinse, no more water would be entered into basket, the original water still inside.

Hi Guys,

I am happy now.:)

My husband he checked the lid switch as you guys mentioned before, he found the one side of plastic shell/box for the lid switch was broken, there was a gap, so even the lid was closed, the power wasn't connect through the lid switch. He just to use the gluestick to seal the gap and the washer is working normal again.

We thank you guys very much for your precise hint, otherwise we thought the point is the timer, if we replace the timer, we have to waste almost $70-80 and can't get a normal washer back.
