I already posted this in the basement section, then I saw this section more specific to my question.
The builders put faced insulation on all 4 walls in the basement. Almost 90% of it is below grade. I'm planning to finish the basement in the next month or so. Should I take the faced insulation down, then frame the walls and put it back up between the studs, or build the framing and "squish" it against the insulation as tight as I can, or just have the framework comfortably against the insulation? Additionally, is it a good idea to put vapor barrier plastic over the studs, but under the drywall as well? I'm in Central Virginia if the area helps at all. I've read in a couple places that the vapor barrier goes on the warm side of the wall, and on the walls below grade. Is that correct?
Thanks,
Chris
