Replaced a couple of the switches (different ones) last year because they wouldn't get into the 'medium' setttings - either too hot or not hot enough. Went fine.

Now have one that wouldn't come down from high - had to pull the burner out ( then unplug the range ;). Is this the switch or the burner? 25 years old.

TIA

It will be the switch. The contacts inside are probably welded closed. Can you post the model #? Thanks.

It was the switch. An easy repair, too. The diagnosis was easy (once I thought of it) - just swap the suspect coil to the other large position - it worked fine there.

Cool- that's heads up thinking. Thanks for the feedback.
