Hello Folks,
We have owned this washer for about 8 years.
Symptoms: Does not Agitate and does not Spin however all other cycles work fine.
Previous Solutions: Replace motor coupler
At first we thought it was a bad motor coupler and have replaced it now twice. each time it breaks. Could there be another cause to why this keeps happening?
Much Thanks

are you using fsp brand part # 285753A? i have seen washers break the non OEM ones easily.
or could have a bad gearcase that is locking up causing the coupler to break.

Hello David
Thanks for the quick response. I would guess if i can turn the Shaft in one direction and not the other this would be an indication that the gearcase is in good working order, Please correct me if i am wrong.
Yes I have used the part #285753 no A at the end. And i have used the aftermarket #1195967 with Metal sleeves for added strength.
Both solutions have Failed.

Put the new coupler on the tranny. and turn clockwise till the tranny tries to spin the spin basket. If hard to turn with one hand, you have an obstruction in the tub, or dragging brake shoes. Post results. You can shine a light in the tub to look for an obstruction.

Hi szm200
All is good i have turned the coupler with my hand clockwise and it turns quite well. I have just ordered all new parts Transmission, Coupler and Motor. Just going to replace all and be confident. Besides I will have back up parts and it is cheaper to just replace the parts than buy a new washer.
thanks to all and Happy New Year!!!!!!!!!!!
