HI,

Icemaker is frozen solid. I hear a clicking sound; like the knives are trying to cut the slab into cubes but it's not able to, so the water kept running and the obvious mess occured. I've shut off the water and am wondering what to do next. This happened once before and I defrosted the icemaker and started over and it worked again until now.

Please advise.

Do the same thing again, remove the icemaker, melt all ice off, keeping water out of the gears, motors, switches, etc. Put it back in, raise the arm so it won't make ice. After four hours, let the arm down, and watch to see what happens. Does it over fill, or show any problem. After it fills, raise the arm again, and after 2 hours, lower the arm, and watch to see if it rakes out the ice and fill the cavity again with water without overfill.

Seems like a bad/intermittant mold heater, probably new icemaker time.
