Not sure what is wrong with it if anyone could shed some light on where I should check first it would be appreciated.

I would move the tub back and forth, then see if the lid switch clicks when shut. If not, remove the screws for the top and check the plunger that activates the lid switch, probably out of position.
If ok, check that the lid switch is firmly in place, it clicks in. If ok, replace the lid switch, part # 12001908

Thanks for the reply. I tried the lid switch. It is working fine. When the lid switch is open the tub still fills. With the lid up or down water will not come into the tub.
I opened the back panel. There is continuity to all three leads of the plug. I begin to suspect the timer...
Still working on it

I'm a little confused. You're saying the washer won't fill with water? Do you have voltage at the machine? Any chance it's plugged into a GFI receptacle and the GFI tripped?

You could have a bad water level switch, check per the wiring diagram.
