i have a washer that won't fully spin out. Sometimes i have to manually spin the drum and it will spin slowly. it will not always spin the water out of the clothes. It doesn't want to seem to spin fast. Model #LSQ9549LQ0 it is a intermitin problem some grease is leaking into the tub has black ring around the top above the water level becoming more frequent on every cycle

most likely is the gearcase leaked oil onto the clutch.
lean the washer against the wall and look on the inside of the cabinet about 1 foot above the floor. you may see a line of oil slung off the clutch onto the cabinet. if so youll need to replace the clutch and the gearcase.

Thanks for the info i appreciate it. One question though how does the gearcase leak oil? Thru the shaft going into it? I just replaced the basket drive tub assembly and when i pulled it out there was grease in there, what is that About?

oil leaks out the gearcase top seal and travels up the shaft to the clutch.
