Water heater is 5 years old sitting in garage installed properly. The pilot light is lit and flame comes on and stays on for about ten minutes not long enough for water to get hot. Replaced thermocoupler still not working any suggestions.

jhami5305,

Welcome to the forums.

Once the pilot is lit and the control knob is turned on, does the burner light?

If not, you either have a clogged orfus or a bad control valve.

I would call the gas company first. The may come out and clean the orfus for you at no charge (Most used to, some still do.)

If that doesn't work, replace the control valve.
