Ok this is probably a dumb question, but hopefully simple.

In the installation manual - when talking about entry/exit delay... The limits are:

"SIA Limits on: 30 - 240 sec
SIA Limits off: 5 - 240 sec"

I assume SIA refers to the protocol used for communication to the central monitoring station?

But I'm not really sure - and I really don't know why there's an "on" and "off" setting.

I was thinking that essentially for entry delay - you'd have x seconds before the piezo alarm goes off, and if so equipped - the monitoring station is called.

Obviously I was wrong and it is at least slightly more complicated?

Thanks :)

Never mind...

Later in the manual it gives enough information to make it reasonably clear...

That SIA, which I assume is a standard alarm messaging protocol or standard... has it's own set of limits to which the exit or entry delay can be set to.

Sorry for the needless post :)

In layman's terms, they have to do with false alarm reduction features
