Hi, I have an alarm system consisting of an ademco 4110xm control panel. I just replace a 6128 keypad that went bad with an ademco 6150. The system is not monitored, everything is working fine after replacing the keypads except that the keypad now shows a "bF" code. Does anyone knows what it means and how I can get rid of it?
Thanks for any help.

That would be backup long-range radio failure. Could you have one of the old analog cell dialers still attached to the system?

If so, you need to physically disconnect it from the keypad bus. That code is actually generated by the cell dialer.

HI Baresto

YOU MY WANT TO LOOK AT THE MAIN UNIT NOT THE BOX THE BACKUP LONG-RANGE RADIO FAILURE (bf) WILL NOT COME UP ON THE KEY PAD DUE TO THERE IS NO SPOT IN THE PROGRAMING FOR IT

Good catch, I've seen that code so many times since the AMPS sunset, that I didn't think about the fact that the 4110 series wasn't compatible with that radio. They may have a newer control mounted in an old box (not that uncommon...)

I am kind of new in this. By main unit you mean control panel, right? How does the cell dialer look? I have no idea how it looks.
Thanks for your help.

By main unit, we mean the box where the backup battery and system mother board are. The 7845C AMPS dialer looks like the one in the following link:

Ademco 7845CV2 Alarmnet Nationwide Cellular Radio (http://nassausecurity.com/p87.htm)

Actually, to my surprise, the 7845C dialers are listed as compatible with 4110dl, xm and xmp. There's just no Long Range radio programming location. It must be installed in zone mode.

Helo, I jus check the main box and I do not have a dialer, I just have the backup battery, mother board and I think a RJ45. Could be there another reason why I am getting this code?
Everything was fine after I replace the keypad. The problem began when I tried to program the sytem to call my cell when the alarm goes off. After that I started receiving the bF code. I already did the *41* and *42* but I still reciving the code.

Long Range radio failure is the only meaning of bF on _any_ vista-class panel. The problem is that you are quoting a model that doesn't even have the option for this function.

Could you possibly be seening FC? That would fit with the programming you attempted to do.

I think you are right. Maybe I have a newer control in an old box. I say this because the code "bF" I am receiving. Because I thought I have a 4110xm I was programming field 27 with "1" thinking it was for "Audible Exit Warning" but actually I was programming the Long Range Radio. I change the value to "0" in field 27 and the code bF is gone. I found out that "Audible Exit Warning" is in field 39. This make me to ask you another question. How can I know for sure what control do I own? That's because when I had to change keypad first I wanted to go with the 6160RF but the control 4110xm, which I thought is the one that I own does not support it, that's why I choose the 6150. If in reality I own a vista 10 control I can use a 6160RF, right? Any advice in how I can know for sure what control I own. Thank you so much, I wouldn't be able to go this far without your help.

Look at the motherboard. Somewere on the upper edge there will be a part number stenciled on the surface. The part number will have a V in the first 3 or so characters.
