I am trying to finish up the phone line aspect of my installation and am having some "fun" with regards to the connection of the RJ-31X Jack to the PowerMax+ system.
From the outside phone box I have the following:
1. one line going to phone- Red and Green wires connected to inside Wall jack
2. one line going to the security panel- has Red, Yellow, Black and Blue wires
The inside of the RJ-31X Jack has 4 screws with wires- wire colors are Yellow, Green, Red and Black. The connecting cable that clips into the top of the RJ-31X Jack has 4 wires and the colors of these wires are Red, Green, Brown and Gray.
The PowerMax+ has 2 connections for LINE and 2 connections for SET. I am confused here because everything that I have read refers to Ring, Tip, R1 and T1.
I have looked up some things on the internet to see how to connect the system, but with the color changing of the wires, I want to make sure as to what connects to what and the specifics of connecting the wire from outside box to the RJ-31X Jack, from the RJ-31X Jack to the PowerMax+ and where the phone actually connects into the wiring and system.
Any help with regards to this is appreciated.

See the diagram linked in the FAQ for this topic.
Don't get caught up in specific wire colors, but look at the function.
You come from the telco source to the RJ-31x on the Red & Green terminals (4 & 5) you return the dial tone to the house lines via the Brown and Grey terminals (1 & 8) on the RJ 31x jack.
The problem is that the powermax phone connection is much more complicated looking than it needs to be.
Basically, if you are using RJ-31x wiring, you don't use the "line" plug at all, and you need a double ended RJ-45 patch cord (a standard ethernet patch cord will work just fine) to connect between the panel and the RJ-31x jack.
The line plug is for temporary installs where line seizure isn't a consideration.
