Hi, I'm not familiar with the whole alarm stuff, i just moved into this house and it had an alarm already installed but the preivious owners never used it and they don't know the codes or anything they just unplugged it, i was wondering if anyone could help me with a step by step installation guide, I live out in the country and have no internet access im at a friends house in the city right now, and would love some help, thanks in advance oh and I can't download the installation manual due to me not having a computer..

The installation instructions are a 72 page booklet and the user manual. Take advantage of the access you have, and dump them on a thumb drive or a disc.

Even a simple and small alarm system like a Lynx is not something that can be summed up in a couple of sentences.
You _need_the_manuals_. In the world of alarms, real men read manuals.
The quick and dirty: within 50 seconds of restoring power to the panel, press * + # at the same time. It should jump into program mode. Press #20 to get it to read back the installer code (1 digit at a time). Press *99 to exit programming.
Then you can use the instructions in the systems operation section of the installer manual to use the installer code to set a new master user code.
