Hi All,

I have a Kenmore Heavy Duty 70 Series that fills with water, but when it gets to the wash cycle it sometimes cuts off before starting to wash.

In tinkering around with it I found that I can move the actual tub to the left or right manually to the edge and it will sometimes start and have no issues the rest of the washing cycles. Sometimes it completes the cycles without any issues.

Is there some type of switch or something that I need to replace that has a short in it? :wall:

Moving the tub should not do anything. You might have a loose wire at motor. here is a link that will tell how to remove cabinet.Whirpool Drive-Coupling Replacement (http://repair2000.com/coupling.html) Just use what you need to take off cabinet. Put washer in a wash cycle and shake wires. If one sparks or washer stops you know where to look. Don't touch any bare ends.

do this model stop agitating when you open the lid? if so the lid switch could be on the way out.

could also be bad contacts in the timer as well.
