I have a Craftsman 5 1/2 HP 24" Snowthrower, model no. 247.88255.1, and the bushings at the end of the auger shaft need to be replaced. I have removed the two bearing housings on each side and now need to pull the auger assembly out. The schematic in the manual shows a lock bolt on the back side of the auger pulley that apparently holds the gearbox shaft in the splined receiver. If I remove this bolt, will the auger assembly and impellor come out? If not, please help. We've got 12 more inches of snow coming...
