We built our house ourselves and everything is done except the molding around the windows, doors and floors. We don't have the money to spend on wood molding, is there any decorating ideas to put instead of it?:)

If you have wood window and door frames, the molding hides the gaps as well as being decorative. Some homes have doors and windows where windows and open door ways are simply drywalled. Perhaps with limited budget, you could do around the doors and do windows as budget allows. Window treatments can be hung in such a way to hide the unfinished projects.

I do agree with twelvepole.
I'd suggest that you wait until you can complete your project, instead of a cheap alternative, spending money twice (one with a cheap alternative and the second with the good one)
The moldings not only hide the imperfections, but help to close the gaps (avoiding dust, mold, etc)
A cheap option for carpet floors is a decorative braided rope. You can buy it in any store selling curtains and accessories. It will last a couple of years.

We've had posters who sanded wood subfloors and painted or sealed and used rugs until they could install hardwood and carpet.

I remodeled a house on a very low budget once. I too couldn't see spending so much money on baseboards and moldings. Here is what I did, I found a old barn and got some of the barn boards off of it, ripped them down to 4 inches and made baseboards out of it, also around the windows, I didnt do anything to the wood but wired brush it a little to knock off some dirt and stuff, it looked great. I liked so much I ended up doing one wall of the living room with the wood and the front of the bar, that in turn tied in the baseoards and window treatment and really it didnt cost anything. But I guess its a matter of taste if you like weathered wood look or not, hope this suggestion helps :)
