Hello, looking to put an alarm system into my warehouse, ideally with the ability to send messages to my cell phone, not interested in security company monitoring, just an alarm...

I plan to install myself, I posses a decent understanding of modern electronics including programing, plus I have all the tools required, not afraid to get dirty, and enjoy an occasional 110 jolt ;)

Any brand/model recommendations?

All of the major brands will work just fine. The differences are primarily ones of secondary functions and installation/programming difficulty.

Read through the archived posts. The types of questions will tell you a lot.
