I have a Vista 20SE and SA5881 MED K receiver. Previously, the system was set up with zones 10-24 hosting (9) unsup'ed RFs, (3) motions, and (2) fire. I just purchased and coded in 3 more RFs (5815s) on zones 25, 26, and 27. Now, about a minute after the system shows *System Ready*, it goes back into Stand By... with the 'E8' code. Have I truly gone beyond the capacity of a 5881? If not, what do I need to change to accomodate the 3 new sensors? If so, what's the least expensive route to accomodating 12 RFs, 3 motions, and the 2 fire sensors? Do I simply need to upgrade the RF receiver? If I do, what is the best & least expensive solution?

TIA,
Rob

Look at your install manual: a 5881M on a Vista 20se maxes out at 16 wireless zones. You were at 15 with your original configuration. You need a 5881 H model to get the total of 24 wireless zones this panel supports.

All you need is a receiver swap.

Ok - thanks. I'm sitting on a couple of ebay listings for 5881 ENH units. Hopefully, one of those will pan out. I'm hoping to pick 1 up for maybe $30 - $40, with shipping. If you know any inexpensive sources that don't require auction-watching, I'd be happy to hear about them.

Thx, again -
Rob

Ebay is going to be the best place. I've gotten all my hardware from them.

By the way, you are getting outbid on your receiver. ;)
