My dad want a impact wrench for christmas and I found a craftsman about what he needs. Its a 1/2" drive with 700lbft but I also came across a campbell hausfeld for about $40 less and it 3/4" drive and 1000lbft.

The campbell hausfeld sounds like a better deal but I have no idea if they are junk or not.

Campbell hausfeld is a good name brand for the money. I've had several of there tools for years and no problems at all.

What size are his impact sockets? If he's like me, he has more 1/2" drive sockets than 3/4"

He has all 1/2, he would have to get a adapter to bring 3/4" down to 1/2. He has 2 impacts now but they are like 350lbft and hes been wanting a powerful one.

get the 1/2" he will get tired of the weight of the 3/4" and unless he is working on 1 1/2 ton trucks he won't need the extra power.

how come common sense isn't so common?

It would mostly be used on farm equipment.

Craftsman is often repackaged IR (depends on the model).
CH air tools are the Black and Decker of electric tools with all the "benefits" of the global economy.

if he is mostly using it on farm eq he might need the 3/4 in then, smaller eq or is he a full time farmer with larger tractors and impliments?

if we're not supposed to eat animals why are they made out of meat?

Its grape equpiment and some cultivators, I think both the 700ftlb craftsman and the 1000ftlb campbell hausfeld would be fine but Im worried about the campbell hausfeld being junk. Either the campbell hasufeld will fly apart or not put out as much torque as it says.

in that case I vote for the craftsman as the last time I checked they were made by ingersol rand and were pretty good for home use.

From what I read the craftsman is built by florida pnumatic.
