There's not really a category that this fits best, so I'll give it a shot.
Websearch using the phrase 'intercom systems" It will get you both vendors and the manufacturers websites.

What make & model do you have now? How many stations? Does it have access (door) control?

Hmmm, that's a lot trickier.
That's an old system, and I'm pretty sure out of production. It's part of the building system, and may even have a central amplifier. There are a few online vendors (websearch for "florence intercom system") that may sell replacement consoles that are compatible.
This is not something that a "generic" replacement will work for. These things are as specific as an office telephone system.
You might come out better trying to get someone to custom make a new face for the components.

well, poo. this thing is a hunk of junk, as is most of the products the builder installed. i was hoping i could just swap in a new whatever its called.
so, as the vice president, i am going to run it past the other 2 memebers to see if a new, better working system can be installed in the 4 buildings. if that fails, i will fix it up myself.
thanx

Florence Intercom is now called Pacific Electronics. Web site is Welcome to Pacific Electronics (http://www.pacificelectronicscorp.com)
The replacement controller for a Florence FMC-30 is Pacific Model AF1000. If all you need is the apartment station, the part is the Model P12A. It uses the identical mounting box as the Florence original. The model 3406 may work, but I have not tested it.

That's the price of maintaining compatibility with existing legacy hardware. The only way to upgrade is to upgrade the whole shooting match.
