I have a TrueSteam installation question.

I'm having a larger heat pump supply plenum installed to allow installation of a TrueSteam humidifier. The metal plenum box will be covered on the exterior with R8 insulation.

Is there any problem attaching the mounting bracket on top of the R8 insulation? Or should an area be left without insulation to mount the bracket directly to the metal box?

I know the mounting bracket would compress the insulation which to me should not be an issue.

sorry, I did not get to you sooner, been busy at work and other stuff before Christmas.

Is the insulation foil covered? If so, then yes, you can mount it on it, otherwise, if it's paper or foam, then no.

Thank you for the reply.

Yes, insulation will be foil faced. As an added measure, I plan to install a 12"x12" piece of sheet metal on top of the foil insulation then attach the mounting plate to both the 12x12 metal and the metal plenum box.
