I have a Concord Express home security system with the fixed display keypad. We just experienced a long power outage and when power returned the ‘Ready’ light would not come on. I checked the status and there were no trouble conditions. In every other way system works fine. I removed the battery and disconnected the transformer and then powered back up but this did not solve the problem. System arms/disarms fine both for ‘Stay’ and ‘Away’ and the red ‘Armed’ light comes on and stays on but, again, when I disarm the system ‘Armed’ light goes out but green ‘Ready’ light does not come on. I checked all sensors and they are all closed and operating fine. Anyone have any ideas on what is causing this and how it can be remedied?

try hitting "76" which checks alarm memory...

Thanks very much, good tip - it showed "CPU Low Batt" but that is puzzling as I measured the battery voltage to be 11.5 volts.

When power to our home was first restored I pressed "*" to get status and it reported the same thing ("CPU Low Batt") I left it for 24 hours and pressed "*" again and there were no alerts. I know the system automatically checks the battery voltage every 24 hours so I assumed battery got charged which cleared the alert. Now when I press "*" no alerts are reported, it only show when I press "76" as you suggested - do you know anyway to clear the alarm memory? I don't have the master code, we bought this house from the original owner who never recorded it - all I have is user code.

An alarm battery is normally 12.5 to 13.5 volts. Your battery is dying/dead. The 11.5v is the battery charger trying it's best to keep up.

I installed a new battery yesterday and today the “CPU Low Batt” alert has gone away but the ‘Ready’ light will not come one but in all other ways the system continue so function perfectly. If I arm the system then open a zone causing the siren to go off and then disarm the system the siren stops and the ‘Ready’ light DOES come on but goes off again after about 5 seconds so I know the ‘Ready’ LED is not defective – any other ideas on what is causing this problem and how to correct it?

Use the status check command. It sounds like you have either an open zone, or some other device that has not been reset. This is a situation where our lack of knowlege as to what hardware and zones you actually have installed limits our ability to provide you with a meaningful answer. I suspect that it is arming because the zone is one that is "force arm" enabled, and autobypasses when you arm.

Do you have motion detectors? Are they wireless or hardwire?
Might have a zone type mix up going on (not sending restoral signal)...

Thanks, I appreciate the suggestions. I do have wired motion detectors but they seem to be working properly.

As I played around with the limited commands my User Access code permits the green ‘Ready’ suddenly came on and wouldn’t go out whether or not the system was fully secured.

Now I have discovered when I press 7+1 to turn ‘Chime Off’ the ‘Ready’ light works correctly i.e. it comes On when system is fully secured and Off when any Zone is open. When I press 7+1 again to turn ‘Chime On’ the ‘Ready’ light stays on permanently whether or not the one or more zones are open. Is there a way to have ‘Chime On’ plus correct ‘Ready’ light indication? I have tried (I think) all the commands that my limited access User code will allow without success.
